Rob holds a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from George Fox University and a Bachelor of Arts in Bible from Barclay College (Haviland, KS). There he served as Associate Pastor at Fairfield Friends Church working with middle school and high school youth, and leading worship. It was during this time when Rob began feeling the call to teaching after working at the elementary school across from the church. Rob and his wife, Shannon, moved the family back to Oregon in 2000, and served as Worship Leader at Sherwood Friends from the fall of 2000 until the fall of 2008 while earning his Master of Arts in Teaching and starting his teaching career. He then served as Worship Coordinator at Northside Community Church in Newberg for six years before returning to Sherwood Friends as our Worship Director.
Rob and his wife, Shannon, have been married since 1991. They have three children, Nick (married to MaryGrace), Ethan and Jaden. They are also blessed grandparents to Noah (Nick's son).
Rob says, “Worship is not about a particular style, or making people feel good. Worship is honoring God, glorifying Him and connecting with the Creator of the universe. My role as a worship leader is to facilitate this. Worship is not a performance. EVERYTHING should point to the Trinity- God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit."
